Rock Creek JV softball sweeps Riley County

The Rock Creek junior varsity softball team played a doubleheader at Riley County on Friday, winning the games 4-3 and 8-0.

The Mustangs led 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth in Game 1 when Riley County started making a comeback. Rock Creek was able to hold on for the win.

Rock Creek outhit the Falcons 8-7, led by Alexis Wilson going 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Shannon Caffrey went 2 for 4 with a triple. Blair Campbell and Jayden Weers each doubled.

Campbell earned the win to move to 2-0 in Mid-East League play, striking out five.

Rock Creek earned its second shutout win of the year in Game 2, with an 8-0 win over the Falcons. Brynn Hammett earned the win, striking out five and allowing two hits.

Caffrey was 3 for 4 with a double and a triple. Abbie Plummer had two hits and two stolen bases. Hammett added two hits.
