Rock Creek JV softball finishes season 11-5

The Rock Creek junior varsity finished its season on Monday with a sweep of Hiawatha, winning the games 15-0 and 18-0.

Jayden Weers and Saige Biedenbender each pitched shutout wins for the Mustangs, while the offense put up big numbers behind it.

The Mustangs had nine hits in the first game, led by a 3 for 3 game from Weers, who had three RBIs. Morgan Tiers was 2 for 2 with an RBI. Alexis McCormick, Cassidy Cheever and Alexis Engelken each singled. Olivia Lee had a single and two stolen bases.

Hiawatha had no hits and got its only two bases runners on due to Rock Creek errors. The Mustangs drew seven walks in the game. Weers finished with three strikeouts and brought her season-ending record to 7-4.

Rock Creek had 10 hits in the second game, led by Lee’s 2 for 2 with a triple game. Bethany Goehring and Tiers each doubled and had two hits. Cheever, Dakota Nelson, McCormick and Veronica Valburg each singled.

Rock Creek drew 11 walks in the game and nine stolen bases.

Biedenbender pitched a no-hitter for the win and finishes the season 4-0.
