Rock Creek baseball plays Clay Center, Riley County

The Rock Creek baseball team played four games over the weekend, sweeping Clay Center on Friday before splitting with Riley County on Saturday.

The Mustangs played at Clay Center on Friday, winning the first game 10-3 and the second one 14-1.

Zach Nider took the win in the first game, allowing one run over three innings. He struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits.

The Rock Creek offense was lively again in Game 2, while Shilo Schaake allowed just one hit in two innings with five strikeouts.

On Saturday, the Mustangs played Riley County in Tointon Family Stadium.

Rock Creek won the first game 5-1, getting off to a quick start with three runs in the first inning. Schaake had an RBI triple, followed by RBI singles from Nick Beyer and Austin Sellers.

Jesse Correll started for Rock Creek and went five innings with four strikeouts. Caleb Rogge finished the game for the Mustangs. Trace Nelson took the loss for the Falcons.

Riley County won the second game 5-4, with Noah Rignell taking the win for the Falcons.

Rock Creek led 2-0 in the first inning, but the Falcons went ahead for good in the second inning on an RBI single from Cordell Weis.
