A homeless man was arrested Wednesday in connection with last week’s robbery of Dara’s Fast Lane, 1816 Claflin Road.

Travis Bowman, 22, who has no listed address in the Manhattan area, was arrested by Riley County police at 9 p.m. Wednesday on charges of aggravated robbery and theft.

At 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 20, a man entered the Dara’s convenience store on Claflin Road armed with a gun.

According to police, the robber demanded that the store clerk hand over money from the cash register and the keys to the clerk’s vehicle.

The robber left the business with cash and the clerk’s white 1995 Chevrolet pickup.

Later that morning, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper located the pickup abandoned north of Manhattan on Tuttle Creek Boulevard.

Bowman is confined at the Riley County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond. He is also being held for a robbery warrant from the Omaha area.
