The next phase of the U.S. 24 and East Poyntz Avenue intersection project began Wednesday.
Traffic control has been modified to accommodate the next phase of construction on the southeast corner of the intersection, according to a report from the city of Manhattan.
Northbound traffic has been reduced to one lane approaching the intersection, and delays should be expected.
The project at the entrance to Manhattan Town Center will include construction of new double left-turn lanes for southbound to eastbound traffic and dual right-turn lanes for northbound traffic.
City officials said the project is still on schedule for completion in August.
Travelers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes during construction.
