Ring in the 2012 with the 10,000 of your closest friends for the ninth annual Little Apple New Year’s Eve celebration and ball drop.
The party starts at 10 p.m. with DJ Double Threat, followed by the 2010 and 2011 OPUS Band Competition winners Catch Amy at 10:45 p.m. A laser light show will dance to the music and Moro Street will be renamed “Broadway.”
K-State Dean of Education Michael Holen, who will be retiring at the end of this academic year, will push the button to lower the “Little Apple.” A fireworks show by PFB Pyros will light up the sky at midnight.
The Manhattan Arts Center is also presenting a New Year’s Eve party. “Hats Off to Hollywood,” beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, will feature DJ Dave Lewis, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a champagne toast at midnight. MAC is within walking distance of Aggieville so you can see the Aggieville apple drop and come back to the warmth for a champagne toast.
