The Riley County softball team hosted the St. Marys Bears on Tuesday night, splitting the doubleheader.
Riley County won the first game 8-4 and lost the second game, 14-13.
Heidi Prockish started in the circle and earned the win with relief from Makayla Tegtmeier.
Kerrigan Simons handled the catching duties for both games. Bri Engle, Alyssa Kulp and Simons had two singles apiece. Jordan Ummel added a single.
Prockish took the loss the loss in Game 2 and Tegtmeier pitched in relief in the fourth inning.
The game was tied at the end of five innings, 10-10.
In the top of the sixth, St. Marys scored one run. In the Falcons’ half of the inning, Simons singled and Ummel singled to score Simons.
In the seventh, the Bears scored again and Prockish answered with an inside-the-park home run.
In the top of the eighth, St. Marys put together four singles and scored two runs. The Falcons (6-10), could only muster one run when Engle got on base on an error and Kulp singled to score her.
Besides the home run, Prockish also had a triple and a single. Kulp had a big night at the plate with an inside-the-park home run, a triple and two singles.
Allie Martin added three singles. Emily Brummett, Simons, Engle and Maddie Rogers all had two singles each.
Riley County travels to Marysville on Friday for a doubleheader.
