Riley County gets sweep of St.Marys

At St. Marys, the Riley County girls’ basketball team played its first complete game without Katelyn Thomson on Thursday night and came out on top, 54-40, by taking each of the three quarters to build a 17-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The Falcons won the third quarter 15-5 to create separation.

Individual scoring was not available.

Riley County (19-1, 10-0 Mid-East League) will be the top seed at the Silver Lake sub-state and will open on Tuesday at home against eighth-seeded Oskaloosa (1-18) at 7 p.m.
