At Hays, the Riley County boys won the seventh-place game at the Hays Shootout to cap its weekend with a victory after a pair of losses to open the season.

Trace Nelson scored 30 points, making a trio of 3s and finishing 9 of 12 from the free-throw line. Brice Brummett scored 14 points, including 8 of 9 free throws, while Tyler Jordan was also in double figures with 16.

Riley Co. takes Tuesday off before traveling to Silver Lake on Friday.
