Residential burglaries reported in Pottawatomie County

By The Mercury

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three separate residential burglaries reported within the last week.

Undersheriff Shane Jager said the first burglary was reported on Sunday, when a resident of Westmoreland reported that several items, including firearms and jewelry were taken from the person’s residence.

On Tuesday, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received two separate reports of residential burglaries in rural Manhattan, near Pottawatomie State Lake No. 2.

Jager said these burglaries are believed to have occurred during the daytime hours.

Several firearms also were taken in the last two burglaries, he said.

The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information about the burglaries or anyone who has seen suspicious activity in the areas contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353.
