Staff reports

Riley County police officials have released a photo of Steven Bryson Lawrence, 20, the alleged Wendy’s robber who is still at large.

Officials said that Lawrence allegedly robbed Wendy’s on Anderson Avenue at gunpoint Sunday at approximately 11:35 p.m., stealing $2,000, though that money has been recovered.

After the robbery, Lawrence allegedly fled the restaurant and tried to leave the area in a getaway car driven by his brother Richard Lawrence II, 23, 1430 Cambridge Place, Apt. 3, but Sgt. Erin Freidline said Wendy’s employees were quick to call police and officers were able to swiftly respond to the scene, where they observed an SUV leaving the vicinity of Wendy’s.

She said that when responding officers tried to stop the SUV driven by Richard Lawrence, a chase ensued, and in the 2900 block of Dickens Avenue, Steven Lawrence fled the car.

Freidline said Lawrence, who is approximately 5’7” and 150 pounds, is still at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Richard Lawrence was arrested for aggravated robbery, fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, obstruction of the legal process and reckless driving. He is confined to the Riley County Jail on $55,000 bond.

Riley County officers also arrested another man, Gilbert Floyd Blizzard Jr., 28, 2422 Charolais Lane, Monday, for allegedly driving Steven Lawrence later in the night to an unknown location.

Blizzard was arrested for obstruction and released on $3,000 bond.
