The Riley County Police Department is holding a contest for citizens interested in participating in the department’s next Twitter “tweet-along,” scheduled for the end of April.
While “tweet-alongs” are typically run by Officer Matthew Droge and other patrol officers, the department would like a citizen to ride along with the officers on April 26. The person selected will write the tweets for the department’s Twitter account.
The department has already conducted several “tweet-alongs,” on its Twitter account, @RileyCountyPD, which chronicle everything the officers do and see during a set period of time, usually an evening shift.
Interested citizens can send a message to the department on Twitter explaining why they should be chosen to tweet, using the hashtag #POH in their message.
The deadline to submit a tweet is April 12 at noon.
