Police wrangle escaped bull

Two officers from the Riley County Police Department were forced to round up an escaped bull Monday morning outside Manhattan.

Officer Matthew Droge of the RCPD said police received the call at 8 a.m. to capture the animal in the 4800 block of McDowell Creek Road.

Droge promptly updated the public about the roundup on Twitter and said it took officers 7.6 minutes to control the animal.

While Droge was posting updates, he used the hashtag #CowWatch2013, which became the number one trending tag on Twitter in the Manhattan area Monday morning.

Droge said #Wrangling was number four, both of which beat out #Baylor at number 10.
