By Katherine Wartell

Three more cases of worthless checks written by the same suspect or suspects were reported to the RCPD.

Lt. Josh Kyle said the department is currently working on 15 cases involving the same suspects writing worthless checks to local businesses.

Kyle said that on Jan. 9, a worthless $6 and $146 check were written to Gambino’s Pizza, 400 Hayes Dr., and that on March 27, a worthless $200 check was written to B-Street Design, 512 Poyntz Ave., for two gift certificates.

Kyle said the cases are being classified as thefts and are cases of intentional fraud. He said the investigation is ongoing and detectives have warned local businesses.
