By The Mercury

Riley County Police are currently looking for a man suspected of carrying out a robbery at Kansas State Bank, 1101 Bluemont Avenue, shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 20’s or 30’s, wearing black gloves and a purple Aeropostale hooded sweatshirt that displays the humber “87” on its front left corner. He is approximately 5’7,’ with a slim build. Police estimate his weight to be 150 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was also wearing an apron around his waist and a black t-shirt underneath his Aeropostale sweatshirt.

The suspect entered the building at around 2:45 p.m., demanded money from a teller, and left on foot heading west from the bank, according to police.

Though there is no indication a weapon was used in the robbery, Riley County police urges the public to consider the suspect dangerous and to avoid approaching him.

A four-door Cadillac DeVille, manufactured between 2000 and 2005, was seen driving away from the scene of the crime. Police describe the car as white, with tinted windows, dark door handles and stock rims and wheels. Police believe this vehicle is connected with the suspect.
