Riley County police are searching for a man who robbed a Manhattan Dollar General store Wednesday night.

Officers were alerted to an armed robbery at the store, 2321 Tuttle Creek Blvd, at 10:06 p.m.

Preliminary information released by police indicated the suspect is a black male and is less than six feet tall. He was wearing a red sweatshirt and a ball cap with the American flag across the bill when he entered and robbed the store.

“He did brandish a black, semi-automatic handgun, demanded money, and then he did leave the scene with an undetermined amount of money,” Officer Matthew Droge said Thursday morning. No injuries were reported.

Police obtained a photo of the suspect from surveillance cameras.

Droge said the department wasn’t prepared to release any further details.
