Riley County police released a description Wednesday afternoon of the man who robbed a Dara’s Fast Lane at 1816 Claflin Road early that morning.

The robber is described as being a slender white male,  5 feet, 7 inches tall. The man was wearing a black or dark-blue hooded sweatshirt with the words “FIT HAPPENS” written on the front of the sweatshirt in white lettering, according to the release.

He also was wearing torn bluejeans, black and white sneakers, reflective sunglasses, and a black face wrap.  He was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Police said the man entered the Dara’s at 2:40 a.m. and demanded money from the cash register and the keys to the store clerk’s vehicle.

Amanda Brubeck, the store chain’s human resource manager said the man left with $140 and drove away in the clerk’s white 1995 Chevy pickup. A Kansas Highway Patrol officer found it abandoned in the 6600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard later that morning.
