Police: More cases of worthless checks

Riley County police said more businesses have reported receiving worthless checks in exchange for goods and services.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that between Dec. 28 and Dec. 29, 2011, two worthless checks were allegedly written to Dara’s Fast Lane, No. 6, 2707 Anderson Ave., for $61 and $108 and that on March 27, a $591 check was written to Burnett Automotive, 400 McCall Rd., in exchange for tires.

Kyle said detectives filed theft and worthless checks reports. He said the incidents are related.
