Police looking for motorcycle

Riley County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a $20,000 custom-built motorcycle that was reported as stolen more than a week ago.

John Straud, 27, of Wamego, reported the theft on July 8 when Riley County Police Department officers responded to 6241 Zeandale Road.

Straud told police that an unknown person took the motorcycle from a family member’s home.

Now, police are turning to the public to assist in the search.

The motorcycle is described as a 2003 red, silver and chrome special construction motorcycle with a rigid frame and a leather seat with stitching. Police are still investigating the theft.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Riley County Police Department at (785) 537-2112 or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers at (785) 539-7777. Tips may be anonymous and could be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
