Pedestrian struck by car

A 22-year-old Manhattan man was flown to Stormont Vail in Topeka with serious injuries after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in the 2200 block of Claflin Road.

Sgt. Brad Ingalls said Jordan Worrel was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center before being transferred after he was allegedly struck by a Ford Fusion driven by Brett Engleman, 23, Manhattan, at approximately 1:26 a.m. on Sunday.

Ingalls said Worrel was flown to Stormont Vail for head trauma.

The accident is still under investigation.
