A 42-year-old Manhattan woman was life-flighted Saturday after being struck by an SUV near the 1900 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard after police say she was allegedly walking near traffic while intoxicated.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that dispatch started receiving reports of an apparently intoxicated woman walking on the road a little after 9 p.m. While sending officers to the scene, police learned that a pedestrian had been hit in that area, he said.

Kyle said Tawnia Koelliker was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Heath Kraft, 37, Manhattan. He said Koelliker crossed in front of his SUV.

Koelliker was life-flighted to Stormont-Vail in Topeka for head injuries and abdominal and pelvic pain. Officers cited her for intoxicated pedestrian in roadway.
