Pawnee receives award to purchase 165 camp t-shirts

The Manhattan Breakfast Optimist Club has awarded Pawnee Mental Health Services with $742.50 for the purchase of t-shirts for approximately 45 adult staff members and 120 children with serious emotional disturbances (SED) who will attend Pawnee’s STARS Camp this summer.

“The Manhattan Breakfast Optimist Club has been a faithful sponsor of STARS Camp for several years now,” said Robbin Cole, Executive Director of Pawnee Mental Health Services.  “We are grateful for their support!”

STARS Camp (Strength, Teamwork, Attitude, Relationships, Self-Esteem) provides a summer camping experience for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances such as conduct disorders, attention deficit disorders and disorders related to emotional, physical or sexual abuse.  STARS Camp is staffed by employees of Pawnee Mental Health Services.

Pawnee Mental Health Services is a licensed community mental health center and licensed substance abuse treatment center serving more than 7,700 people annually through out 10 counties in north central Kansas.
