Patricia Joy Born, 81, of Manhattan, died Monday at Mercy Regional Health Center.
The family provided some of the following information.
Patricia was born in Wichita on Oct. 20, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Reta P. (Corbin) and T. O. Cornett.
On March 25, 1951 she married Charles J. “Chuck” Born, who died on Sept. 6, 2011.
Pat was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the ESA Philanthropic Sorority, Kansas Square Dance Association (past president); attended Hollywood High School in Hollywood, Calif., and then when the family moved to Wichita she attended and graduated from Wichita East High School.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, Sherry Jessup, wife of Gene of Manhattan, and Holly Burmania, wife of Don of Aurora, Colo.; son, Michael Born, husband of Sharry of Fort Worth, Texas; former daughter-in-law, Rhonda Born of St. Francis; and sister-in-law, Shirley Cornett of Derby. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew Jessup (Andrea) of Wichita, Timothy Jessup of Manhattan, Gabriel Born (Cherish) of St. Francis, Joshua Born (Laura) of Montrose, Colo., Andrea Born of St. Francis, Erica Burmania of Aurora, Colo., and Brett Burmania of Aurora, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Braden Jessup of Wichita, Brynn Jessup of Wichita, Alex Jessup of Wichita, Madilyn Born of Montrose, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Larry & Gary Cornett.
A memorial service will be held at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation, in Manhattan at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Tom Albright officiating.
