To the Editor:
The Kaw Valley Rodeo Association’s eighth annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, in CiCo Park.
This special night of the three-day Kaw Valley PRCA Rodeo honors people who have faced breast and other cancers and supports cancer research at K-State. We hope lots of rodeo fans will pack the arena with pink and be part of the spectacular pink balloon launch that kicks things off.
One dollar from each rodeo ticket sold and proceeds from pink merchandise sales will benefit K-State cancer research. Ticket outlets are listed at www. kawvalleyrodeo.com.
We thank the KVRA for raising awareness of cancer and supporting local research, and the association’s “pink commit-tee” for all their hard work. We also thank major sponsors: Blue Eagle Productions/Mike Herbel, Cox Bros. BBQ, Women’s Health Group, Riley County Medical Society and Innovative Livestock Services/Lee Borck. Addition-ally, we thank our many other generous sponsors, which are listed on our website, and volunteers from the Breast Cancer Support Group, K-State Cancer Fighters and Sigma Alpha agricultural sorority.
Many people are surviving cancer thanks to research like that being conducted here at K-State. With support from fund-raisers and donors, our center helps advance that research and train future scientists.
We deeply thank our supporters and everyone who packs the arena with pink on Friday, July 25.
