Officer retiring in Junction

A 24-year-veteran of the Junction City Police Department announced that he will retire on June 24.

Chief Tim Brown said the public is invited to celebrate Officer David Edgar’s retirement at a reception on Friday, June 22 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Junction City Police Department training room.

Edgar currently serves as the Municipal Court Bailiff. Chief Tim Brown said Edgar was hired as a police officer by the JCPD on June 1, 1988, and he became a D.A.R.E. instructor and school resource officer in July 1995.

Brown said Edgar and his wife, Marie, will continue to reside in Junction City.
