Of ducks, geese, ‘Happy Holidays’ and Hobby Lobby

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

I simply do not understand how the same people who demand free speech rights for Phil Robertson (of the show “Duck Dynasty”) from his employers and those who are in his circle of contact throw a clot when someone wishes them “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” and believe that Hobby Lobby has the right as an employer to follow its own principles regarding health care for its employees.

I am not expressing my opinion about Mr. Robertson’s remarks, the war on Christmas or Hobby Lobby — although I do have opinions on those topics — but the sauce for the goose truly is sauce for the gander, regardless of the side of the aisle occupied by said poultry.
