Obama showed rare boldness in recess appointment of Cordray

By Letters to the Editor

Finally there are signs of life in the White House. I strongly applaud President Barack Obama’s recess appointment of Richard Cordray to be the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. It’s an important enforcement arm of the government for the financial regulations that Congress established two years ago to protect the interests of all Americans and help to prevent another boondoggle like the one that threw the U.S. economy into a tailspin in 2008.
