No. 3 Sterling 57, No. 4 Moundridge 35

The Sterling Black Bears ended the first half strong and started the second half the same way in its 57-35 victory over Moundridge.

Third-seeded Sterling outscored the Wildcats by eight points in the second quarter alone and led 28-17 at the break 28-17.

The Black Bears continued the trend after halftime, outscoring Moundridge 13-7 in the third quarter.

Sterling outrebounded the Wildcats 39-33 and was 18 of 22 at the free-throw line. Moundridge was 8 of 17 at the charity stripe.

Freshman Kylah Comley led the Black Bears with 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and was a perfect 6 of 6 at the free-throw line. Andria Dowell and Chelsey Riffel, who scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Wildcats were led by Brooke Holloway’s 12 points, while Tiffany Huzman added nine points.
