Nevin Rahn Rockwell, 85, of Manhattan, died on Monday at the Leonardville Nursing Home in Leonardville.

The family provided some of the following information.

He was born to the late Forrest and Freda Rockwell on Dec. 28, 1927 in Cook, Neb. He graduated from Dakota City High School in 1945. He married Joanna Rockwell in 1953.  He retired from Lockheed Aircraft after more than 30 years of service.

Nevin was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joanna Rockwell, his parents and his daughter, Linda Sue Rockwell.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Rockwell Horsting and husband John of Virginia and Sharon Rockwell-Filicko and husband Michael of Delaware and their son Connor; a sister, Lavonne Pressey and husband Leslie; a brother, Leroy Rockwell and his wife Kay; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
