Name of home invasion victim released

Officials have released the name of the individual shot in Friday’s home invasion at Chase Manhattan Apartments.

Chase Cargile, 20, was injured after he was shot in his upper torso, Lt. Josh Kyle said. He said the incident happened at Cargile’s apartment at 1400 Chase Place at about 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Cargile, a sophomore at K-State, is in stable condition at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

On Friday, witnesses reported that a suspect wearing a black mask and hooded sweatshirt had fled the area. Kyle said all parties allegedly involved in the incident have been identified and contacted by the Riley County Police Department, including the suspect, but no arrests have yet been made.

The incident is continuing to be investigated as a home invasion robbery.
