A Briggs Auto employee was injured Monday night when he reportedly lost control of a motorcycle and skidded into a parked car in the Briggs Auto Group lot off of K-18.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Javarius Bender, 18, Manhattan, was knocked unconscious in the accident and that as of press time, he was still unconscious at Mercy Regional Health Center. Kyle said the cause of the accident is therefore unclear.

Kyle said Bender was ejected from the motorcycle in the crash, but that he was wearing a helmet and eye protection.

He said the reporting officer believes contributing factors could include reckless driving and overcorrecting, but said there was no indication of alcohol or drugs involved.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. at 4810 Skyway Drive.
