A motorcycle was allegedly set on fire Friday evening in the 500 block of Pierre Street. The blaze also damaged a nearby vehicle.

Jack Kenworthy, 28, Riley, reported that his 1996 Honda 1100 Shadow motorcycle was burned sometime between 9:30 p.m. and midnight, while it was parked outside of 520 Pierre St.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that an unknown suspect placed wood on top of Kenworthy’s motorcycle and lit it on fire. Kyle said the front bumper of a nearby Mercury sedan was also damaged by the flames.

He said the fire caused $4,500 in damage to the motorcycle and $4,000 in damage to the Mercury.

The case is under investigation.
