Morton was also a reading teacher at Wamego Middle School and assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School.

Morton received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and master’s in educational administration and leadership at Kansas State University.

She is working toward a doctoral degree in education administration and leadership at K-State. Morton also is familiar with USD 383, having served as the assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School from 1999 to 2004.

“I look forward to Cleion joining our team in a few months,” Superintendent Bob Shannon said.

Morton will begin her new position on Aug. 1. She will replace Shelley Aistrup, who is moving away from the area.
