The number of registered voters in Riley County has increased from number in the last presidential election.
Riley County’s uncertified registered voter count is 34,629, an increase of 3,104 people from the 2008 presidential election, according to information from the county clerk’s office.
In terms of party affiliation, there are 14,878 Republicans (an increase of 936 people from 2008), 11,461 unaffiliated (an increase of 2,059 people), 7,984 Democrats (an increase of 34 people), 288 Libertarians (an increase of 85 people), 14 Reform (a decrease of 14 people) and four American Elect, which didn’t exist in 2008.
As of Thursday, more than 2,000 people have participated in advance voting, which started Tuesday. During the last presidential election, Riley County had 9,203 people, or 37.6 percent of voters, cast their ballots before Election Day.
