Millie died on Sunday at Brighton Gardens in Prairie Village. 

The family provided some of the following information.

She was born in Harris on Aug. 27, 1918 to George and Grace Atherton.  Millie graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Mo.  on Oct. 27th, 1940. She married Loren O. Trout of Ottawa and they have enjoyed over 70 wonderful years together.  She was a proud 50-year member of the P.E.O. sisterhood and the Fairway Methodist Church. 

Millie is survived by her husband Loren, and a sister, Alma Jean Gray, Minneapolis. 

She was preceded in death by a sister Marjorie and two brothers, Billie Dean and George. Millie will be remembered by all who knew her as testament to the fact that great things come in small packages.  Her warm smile would light up a room the moment she entered, and her engaging personality would always search for the best in everyone.  She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. 

A memorial celebration of Millie‚Äôs life will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM in the activities room of Brighton Gardens, 7105 Mission Rd., Prairie Village.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
