The Manhattan High girls’ golf team got the fall season started Monday with a second-place team finish at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.
The Indians shot 361 as a team to take the runner-up spot behind Washburn Rural. Manhattan had three girls medal in the top 10, with Kelsey McCarthy taking fourth place with an 85, Kylie McCarthy taking fifth with an 86 and Hannah Devane in sixth with an 87. Rounding out the team scores were Amy Levin (102), Anna Jackson (103) and Cassidy Harper (105).
Washburn Rural was the run-away winner, finishing with a 326 and taking the top three medalist spots. Shawnee Heights took third with a 381.
Manhattan has some time before its next meet, with its next event on the calendar on Sept. 10 for the Salina Central Invitational in Salina.
