By The Mercury

With the announcement of new football districts for the 2014-15 seasons, the rest of the football schedule was also released this week.

Manhattan opens the 2014 season against Shawnee Heights at home, the first of five games played at Bishop Stadium. With the addition of Lawrence Free State to District 5, Manhattan moved the Silver Trophy game with Junction City to Week 6.

Starting in Week 4, the Indians will play Highland Park and Topeka West in back-to-back weeks, as they have the last two years.

Hayden moves back onto Manhattan’s schedule after a two-year break, taking the place of Emporia, which is the only league school off the schedule.

The Indians have two district home games in 2014.
