MHS JV soccer tops Washburn Rural

Manhattan High’s JV soccer team beat Washburn Rural 2-1 Thursday night with two second-half goals.

Rural scored first in the 43rd minute. Brandon Religa answered for MHS, scoring directly with a corner kick in the 44th minute.

In the 63rd minute, Kirkland Lambert scored unassisted for the Indians.

Manhattan outshot Rural 13-4. In goal for MHS were Casey Hoffman and Wes Whitney.

The JV is now 4-0 and plays Saturday against Great Bend at Anneberg Park.
