MHS JV soccer tops Shawnee Heights

The Manhattan High boys JV soccer team beat Shawnee Heights 2-1 Tuesday at Anneberg Park.

After a scoreless first half, Austin French scored off an assist by Kirkland Lambert one minute into the second. Eight minutes later, Michael Cossey scored with an assist by Jake Bussman to give the Indians a 2-0 lead.

Shawnee Heights scored with 14 minutes left, but the Indians held them off the rest of the way. MHS outshot Shawnee Heights 13-5. In goal for the JV were Casey Hoffman, Wes Whitney and Sachin DeYoung.

The JV is now 2-0 on the season. Next action is at Seaman on Sept. 18.
