MHS golf takes second at Topeka

On a rainy and chilly day in Topeka on Thursday, the Manhattan High boys’ golf team finished second at the Washburn Rural Invitational at Shawnee Golf Club.

St. Thomas Aquinas took first in the tournament with a score of 306, while the Indians settled in at 313, one shot ahead of third-place Washburn Rural at 314.

Scott Woods won the tournament with an even par 71. David Woods and Cole Dillon each shot 80.

Joe Ballard and Graham Grable were at 82, while Pierson McAtee was at 89.

The Indians are scheduled to take a long time off now as they won’t compete again until April 23 at Topeka Country Club.
