The Manhattan High girls’ basketball team advanced through to the sub-state finals with a 68-11 drubbing of Wichita Southeast at home Wednesday night.
The Indians led 20-0 after the first quarter and didn’t allow a Southeast basket until the 2:56 mark of the second quarter. They led 37-2 at the half and 59-7 heading into the fourth quarter, which used a running clock.
Manhattan (20-1) was led by Darby Price’s 20-point, eight-rebound performance.
Southeast got six points from Kaylie Ines and five points from Jazmann Brown.
Manhattan will likely face Lawrence Free State, which led Wichita East by 20 after three quarters in the other sub-state semifinal. The sub-state final will be in Manhattan on Friday at 7 p.m.
