MHS girls rout Shawnee Heights, 66-43

The Manhattan High girls’ basketball team used a 20-3 run in the second quarter to pull away from Shawnee Heights early Friday night, winning 66-43 but playing with a 30-point lead most of the night.

The Indians got 18 points from Caroline Ballard and a career-high 13 from Molly Fiser.

Manhattan’s biggest lead of 35 points came in the fourth quarter before Indians’ coach Scott Mall emptied his bench.

Shawnee Heights was led by Bailey Wells and Blaize Burgess with 12 apiece.
