MHS girls outlast Washburn Rural

By Grant Guggisberg

The Manhattan High girls’ basketball team stayed undefeated in Centennial League play with a 33-27 win over Washburn Rural.

The Indians hit 3 of 4 crucial free throws — two from Par McNair and one from Darby Price — to build up a lead in the final minutes that would prove to be the difference.

Both teams were ice cold most of the night shooting the ball, with Rural taking a 12-11 halftime lead.

Manhattan travels to Emporia Friday night in a girls-only matchup.
