MHS girls bowling takes second, boys third at Hayden quad

The Manhattan High School bowling team got its season rolling in a quad meet at Hayden on Tuesday.

Head coach Robert Regan was happy with the girls team, which finished second with a 2,018, coming in second to Shawnee Heights’ 2,206. The boys team took third with a 1,884.

Alex Newell had both the high game with a 210 and the high series with 573, good for second place. Zoe Johnson finished in fifth individually with a 528. The Indians’ best game was the second, where they bowled a 758.

Nathaniel Chaput had the high game for the boys with a 198, while Michael Moran recorded the high series at 497. The boys team ended on a high note with a 665 in its third game.

Up next, the Indians will bowl in the Lawrence Free State tournament. Boys compete on Friday and girls on Saturday.
