MHS girls beat Junction City

JUNCTION CITY — The Manhattan High girls’ basketball team won comfortably Friday night against rival Junction City, 63-43, to stay undefeated in Centennial League play.

The Indians got 16 points from Caroline Ballard and 10 points each from Darby Price and Amara Ehie in the win.

Junction City was led by Kori Kamm’s 10 points.

The Indians won every quarter in the game, but didn’t take control until the second half while ending the game on a 16-7 run.

Manhattan led 31-23 at halftime and 47-36 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Indians host Washburn Rural on Tuesday at approximately 7:30 p.m. in a girls-only matchup while the boys’ team prepares for the Tournament of Champions in Dodge City later in the week.
