MHS freshmen top Topeka West

The Manhattan High freshmen team beat visiting Topeka West 40-6 on Thursday, extending its record to 2-3 on the year.

The Indians scored once in the first quarter before a 24-point outburst in the second quarter. The Chargers scored their only touchdown of the game in the third quarter, with Manhattan rounding out the scoring with a final touchdown in the fourth.

The Indians were successful on all four 2-point conversion tries in the game.

The freshmen travel to Tecumseh for a game against Shawnee Heights on Thursday at 5 p.m.
