The Manhattan High freshman football team lost at home to Emporia 20-6 on Thursday. The Indians’ lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 7-yard pass with 6:25 to play.
Emporia got on the board first with a 7-yard TD run with 2:32 to play in the first quarter. The Spartans made it 14-0 on a 5-yard rush with 6:53 left in the second quarter. Emporia took a 20-0 lead on MHS into the final quarter after an 18-yard touchdown pass with 1:01 remaining in the third.
MHS (0-2) will return to action this Thursday when it travels to Topeka Seaman, beginning at 5 p.m.
