MHS bowling takes third at quad

For the second-straight week, Manhattan’s girls and boys bowling teams recorded a pair of third-place finishes.

The Indians bowled in a quad with Topeka High, Shawnee Heights and Washburn Rural on Monday.

The boys finished third behind Washburn Rural and Shawnee Heights, which won the tournament. Nathaniel Chaput was the top bowler with a 576. Michael Moran also put together a strong performance, recording a 526.

The girls beat Shawnee Heights and finished behind Topeka High and Washburn Rural, which won. Zoe Johnson took home fifth place, bowling a 577. Riley Taylor (539) and Alex Newell (526) also finished in the top 10.

Manhattan returns to action Feb. 21 at Junction City.
