Men try to break into Mercy

Two men attempted to break into the Pain Management Clinic at Mercy Regional Health Center on Sunset Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Lt. Kyle said the Riley County Police Department received a call at 1:30 a.m. from a security officer at the hospital who reported that two men had gained access into the center and attempted to break-in to the main pain clinic but were unsuccessful and fled the area.

The security officer said one man was white male, roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall, about mid-20s, who was wearing gray cargo shorts, a black T-shirt and a stocking cap. The other man, he said, was a roughly 6-foot-tall black man in his mid-20s wearing dark coveralls and a stocking cap.

Indications suggest no property was taken, but the men damaged a glass window to the clinic, Kyle said. The total damage to the building was $500.
