MCC’s Sanders named ‘Coach of the Year’

The Manhattan Christian College volleyball team received several awards at the NCCAA National Awards Banquet in Kissimmee, Fla., including the naming of head coach Lauren Sanders as national Coach of the Year.

Sanders picked up her 200th career victory in the Central Regional Tournament at the end of October.

She was selected from among the eight nominees from across the nation.

Manhattan High product Kylie Rupe was one of 12 players honored as first-team All-Americans, while Alyssa Strain and Paige Mortensen were named to the second team.

MCC opened pool play this afternoon against Kentucky Christian University in the NCCAA national tournament.
